You can’t avoid the ads for diets, exercise equipment, health clubs and all things “fitness” in January. There are various reasons that most people do not stick to a new routine.

Want a flat stomach, smaller butt, better toned chest and arms…? Sure, doesn’t everyone? We find these things attractive because in nature, they are signs that we are healthy and fit. Yet in the 21st century world of fitness it may be just the opposite.

If you tried to establish a new routine last year without success did you think that you just lacked discipline? However, perhaps shortly after you started your new “routine” you realized how badly things hurt? You might have even injured yourself enough that you could not continue.

Exercise does not have to hurt. In fact, movement should feel good! For most people, gradually achieving pain-free movement is possible at almost any age. The key is moving correctly and slowly and consistently increasing your activity level.

Many of the classic fitness activities such as weight training, swinging heavy kettle bells, cross-fit, etc. that most of us engage in are not good for our muscles and connective tissue. They aren’t good for much else either if we stop our new routine due to injury.

We offer a variety of safe and effective approaches to fitness training. If you are trying a new fitness approach on your own or at another facility, we also offer personalized self-care and treatment options to help keep you healthy and pain free.

Give us a call today and start your new fitness routine right!
