What We Do2020-03-05T20:31:08-06:00

What We Do

Much of our therapy is based on the MyoFascial Treatment Protocol recommended by the National Association of MyoFascial and Trigger Point Therapists (NAMTPT) and based on the work of Dr. Janet Travell and Dr. David G Simons.

We also utilize the principles of Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization as taught by the Prague School of Rehabilitation. The “Prague School” of Rehabilitation and Manual Medicine was established by key neurologists/physiatrists, all of whom were giants in the 20th Century rehabilitation movement: Professors’ Vaclav Vojta, Karel Lewit, Vladimir Janda, and Frantisek Vele.

We do many of the things doctors do but we are not physicians. You might notice some similarities to physical therapy but we are not PTs. We use some of the techniques you might have experienced with chiropractic, massage or other forms of bodywork before. However, we do not offer spa-type massage.

Our Approach

We go through a very thorough history and assessment of your condition and provide hands-on treatment focused on the cause of your pain.  We will likely suggest lifestyle changes that will promote pain relief and provide self-care instructions enabling you to directly contribute to your treatment.

Understanding your history, occupation, diet, sleep patterns, fitness activities and prior treatments will help us understand you as a whole person.  This knowledge allows for the design of a comprehensive treatment plan.
